Spring is one of the most beautiful times of year for family sessions in Dallas.
The weather begins to warm, the light softens, and the North Texas landscape starts to bloom again. It’s a season that naturally invites families outdoors, creating space for relaxed, connection-focused images that feel both timeless and full of life.
If you’ve been thinking about updating your family photos, spring is the perfect window to capture this exact season of your family.

Spring sessions are designed to feel relaxed and unhurried. Rather than focusing on stiff posing, the experience centers around natural interaction. During your session, I gently guide you into moments that feel genuine like walking together, holding your children, or simply being present. Some of the most meaningful images come from these “in-between” moments when you forget the camera is even there.

Dallas offers a variety of beautiful backdrops during the spring months. Some families are drawn to the formal garden settings and manicured blooms at places like the Dallas Arboretum, while others prefer the organic feel of open, grassy fields in Plano or White Rock Lake as the “golden hour” light hits the tall grass.
The right choice depends on your personal style, and I help every family select a location that photographs beautifully during the specific week of their session.

One of the biggest concerns parents have is whether their children will behave perfectly—and the truth is, they don’t need to.
Spring family sessions are designed with total flexibility. If your toddler needs to run, we let them run. If your baby needs a break, we take one. There is no expectation for children to stand still or smile on command. In fact, children are free to move, explore, and be themselves—that is exactly how we capture their true personalities.

Choosing outfits is often the part families think about most. For spring, I recommend a palette that complements the North Texas landscape without competing with it.
Soft, neutral tones like creams, light or navy blues, sage greens, and muted pastels photograph beautifully against the fresh spring greenery. Instead of “matching,” aim to “coordinate” by mixing textures and subtle patterns. For mothers, flowing dresses allow for easy movement and create a beautiful silhouette in the spring breeze.

Spring is one of the busiest seasons for Dallas photographers because the “blooming” window is surprisingly short. Many families book 4–6 weeks in advance to secure a weekend date while the greenery is at its peak.

I’m currently reserving dates for spring family sessions across Dallas, including both full-service sessions and petite options for families looking for a shorter experience.
